When my outdoor battery system began overheating in direct sunlight, I knew there had to be a better way.

On hot days, my battery system was exposed to constant direct sunlight. Charging performance dropped. Efficiency dipped. And long-term battery health became a serious concern.

Heat wasn’t just uncomfortable — it was affecting performance. I realised this likely wasn’t just my issue. As more batteries are installed outdoors, thousands of systems are exposed to the same harsh conditions.

The Hardware Store Solution

Instead of waiting for someone else to solve it, I went to my local hardware store. Using reflective materials and simple brackets, I built a basic sunshield. It wasn’t pretty — but it worked. Temperatures dropped. Performance stabilised.

That first prototype proved one thing: Thermal protection makes a measurable difference.
